On Thursday, Xbox unveiled what they’re hailing as the “largest, most creatively diverse games lineup in console history”. The Xbox Games Showcase was packed with trailer after trailer of world premieres, gameplay, and information on a wide variety of titles– all of which will eventually arrive on Xbox Game Pass.
Game Pass Is One of the Best Deals in Gaming Right Now
It was tough to narrow down the top 5 new Game Pass additions from Microsofts’s latest game showcase. Why? Because every single game in the presentation is promised to eventually arrive on the service.
“You can play every game you see today from your subscription or free-to-play,” Xbox CEO Phil Spencer announced.
This means all Game Pass members can look forward to every game listed below (and many more) at some point in the future with one small subscription purchase.
Upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate for Console and PC
Halo Infinite
We’ve known that Infinite was coming to Game Pass for a while now, but we’re more excited than ever thanks to the premier of campaign gameplay. “Master Chief is ready to confront the most ruthless foe he’s ever faced,” Xbox claims. Prepare yourself for the “most expansive Master Chief story yet.”
Fable
It turns out the rumors were true– and we couldn’t be happier. The Fable series will finally return on the Xbox Series X and PC under the development of Playground Games (Forza Series). No release window was provided, but at least we now know it’s really happening!
Forza Motorsport
We expected more from this award-winning series, and we finally got confirmation in a world premiere trailer. The new Forza Motorsport will be a complete reimaging of the series that builds upon 15 years worth of success. “With the new Forza Motorsport, ray tracing is coming to ForzaTech, you will see a dynamic world in 4K, 60fps, that is connected and dynamic; from surfaces of cars reflecting off each other, to brilliant red paint bouncing off intensely detailed track surfaces.” It’s hard to believe, but the trailer above was captured entirely “in-engine”.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2
Another fan-favorite series will return in the next console generation. The dread-filled, post-apocalyptic world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will eventually arrive on Game Pass. You can look forward to “one of the biggest open-worlds to date, filled with radiation, mutants, and anomalies.”
State of Decay 3
Last but certainly not least, a new entry in the State of Decay is coming to Xbox Series X and PC. The visuals look stunning, and the zombified deer is simultaneously horrifying and intriguing. We can’t wait to play this with Game Pass.
More Games Coming to Game Pass
In addition to the world premieres, Microsoft unveiled big news on other upcoming games as well. We’ve rounded up the most exciting of the bunch below, and as mention above, all of these games will arrive on Xbox Game Pass eventually (if not on day one):
- Destiny 2 will come to Game Pass in September, along with the upcoming expansion Beyond Light.
- Grounded, the “co-op survival adventure game with a narrative-led hook” debuted its launch trailer (releasing July 28).
- Tell Me Why, the new game from the studio behind Life is Strange, will launch its first chapter in August
- The Outer Worlds will add it’s first DLC “Peril on Gorgon” on September 9.
- The uniquely disturbing horror game The Medium got a new trailer.
