Patch update

Fortnite Season 7 Week 2

Infinity Blade

Fortnite players, especially participants in the Winter Royale tournament, have mixed feeling right now when it comes to the new weapon that just debuted in this week’s update. Epic Games just dropped the “Infinity Blade” into Battle Royale mode this week, and you’re probably going to hate it… unless you’re the one who’s swinging it around!

The Infinity Blade is a “Mythic melee weapon that deals big damage and destroys structures!” It only spawns once per match, and whoever finds it first can do some crazy damage. In a tournament setting, especially one where the grand prize is one million dollars, yeah, we could see how this kind of unpredictable power would be frustrating. But on the other hand, this kind of mayhem is what makes Fortnite so much fun!

Fortnite Creative Is Now Free for Everyone

The other big piece of news from this week’s update is that Fortnite creative is now free for everyone starting today. Previously just for Battle Pass owners, this new game mode allows you to finally get “creative” and build your own custom maps for you and your friends to battle on.

Fortnite Season 7, Week 2 Challenges and Guide

Fortnite Season 7 Week 2

All of the challenges this week are pretty straightforward, except for the ones where you have to find a specific unmarked location (and then do something there). So, to help you out with that, we’ve got a guide on where to find the “pianos” and “abandoned mansion” below.

Free Challenges

  • Search a Chest in different Named Locations (7)
  • Damage opponents with different types of weapons (5)
  • Eliminate opponents in Snobby Shores or Fatal Fields (3) (HARD)

Battle Pass Challenges

  • Stage 1: Visit Snobby Shores and Pleasant Park in a single match (2)
    • 2: Visit Lonely Lodge and Dusty Divot in a single match
    • 3: Visit Frosty Flights and Tomato Temple in a single match
  • Play the Sheet Music on pianos near Pleasant Park and Lonely Lodge (2)
  • Compete in a Dance Off at an abandoned mansion (1) (HARD)
  • Eliminate an opponent from at least 50m away (1)

Where to Find the Abandoned Mansion

Fortnite Season 7 Week 2

This dance spot could be a little hard to find without some help, and the dancing part could be a little difficult without help too. There are two things you’re going to need to complete this challenges: the location, and a dance partner! Doing this challenge in a duo or squad would be best, but it’s possible to do it alone if you meet a stranger nice enough to not shoot you…

Fortnite Season 7 Week 2

There are a lot of structures that could possibly fit the “abandoned mansion” description in the game’s massive map. The exact big empty house you’re looking for is located on the eastern coast of the island. Once you’re there, head into the main structure and then down to the basement. There you’ll find a dance floor and a wall of speakers– time to get your boogie on!

This challenge should help you get into the holiday spirit. Why? You’ll find out once you start playing the sheet music that’s posted above each piano! The first piano can be found to the west of Pleasant Park on top of the hilly area. Head there, play the notes marked on the sheet music, and then you’re done with phase one of this challenge. Let us know in the comments what song you just played a snippet from!

The second piano can be found on the eastern coast of the map, just a little north of the abandoned mansion that you need to dance in for the other challenge. Once you’re there, play the notes written on the sheet in front of you a quickly as you can, and see if you recognize the tune. This song snippet is a bit harder to play since there are more notes, but it shouldn’t be too hard (as long as no one is shooting at you).

Let us know in the comments if you think you know which real songs the sheet music comes from!
