Pick Up Six Free Games with September’s PlayStation Plus Deal

August has come to a close, and that means it’s time for Sony to pump out another six games to their loyal PlayStation Plus subscribers, and this month, a large majority of the free games available include action packed fun.

If you haven’t had the chance to get last month’s games yet, you will have till the 3rd of September before the new September PlayStation Plus lineup kicks in. In August, Sony put up Crysis 3 and Proteus for the PlayStation 3, Fez and Road Not Taken for the PS4, and Dragon Crown and brand new Metrico for the PS Vita.

This month, there aren’t any major AAA titles, but there’s still a lot of content to have a go at. We’ve listed all six of September’s PlayStation Plus games below.

PlayStation 4

Velocity 2X

velocity2xVelocity 2X is an action-packed platformer and shooter game that has a good mix of elements from many classic arcade genres. It’s hard to say exactly what went through the development process of Velocity 2X, but if you got together a bunch of classics from Super Mario Bros to R-Type, stuck them in a mixing bowl and added some sci-fi flavored steroids, you’d probably end up with something a little like Velocity 2X.

Sportsfriends

sportsfriendsSportsfriends is designed to be a game that puts you and your friends together on a sofa just like in the days before online gaming came around. Filled with a variety of different challenging puzzle, arcade and action games, Sportsfriends is the perfect party title for those not so comfortable with dancing in front of the television.

PlayStation 3

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

playstation-allstars-battle-royaleSony followed Nintendo into the brawler genre with PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, and in fact Battle Royale feels so much like Super Smash Bros with a Sony logo over the top it’s not even funny.

Of course, nothing can beat Super Smash Bros, but if you want to see what the fuss is behind brawler games, and want to see what happens when you put some of Sony’s most popular video game characters together in one room, then PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale would be a good chance for you to find out.

Hoard

hoardHoard is an action-arcade strategy title that mixes classic real-time strategy elements into the dual-stick shooter genre. The result is pretty satisfying – if you’ve got the space, which you probably have, considering Hoard is so small, you should definitely download it and give it a go.

PS Vita

Joe Danger

joe-danger-play-stationI think it would be pretty hard to sum up Joe Danger in just a few words, but the game consists of a large amount of side-scrolling racing and platform elements within one action packed bundle. As the name suggest, Joe Danger sees the protagonist trying out all sorts of stunts in different environments across the world. Joe Danger is certainly a good game to have on the go.

TxK

tkxTxK is perhaps the biggest seizure triggering game available for the PS Vita, but it has a pretty epic set of gameplay mechanics. Just imagine pixels, lots of bright colours and particle lasers and you can get a strong idea of what TxK is all about.

What do you think of September’s PlayStation Plus lineup?
