Xbox Games With Gold For May

What’s better than a great game?

Why, a great game you get for free, of course!

In this month of May, Gold members of Xbox Live can get their hands on a selection of diverse titles – without paying a penny. Three Xbox One games are up for grabs, while Xbox 360 owners have two to enjoy.

Check out the full list below.

Xbox One

Defense Grid 2:

Defense Grid 2

Tower defence games have become massively popular since the explosion of mobile gaming, and Defense Grid 2 brings the genre’s fast-paced action to the Xbox One.

Players take charge of an army defending various locations from invading aliens. Bases, stations, and other space-based zones need protection, and building the right towers to stay safe is essential. Definitely worth a try for fans of straightforward, addictive games.

Costume Quest 2:

Costume Quest 2

Costume Quest 2 is a fun RPG popping with colour, following pals Wren and Reynold on a spooky Halloween adventure.

Wren and Reynold have various cool costumes to use in their battle to take down the nefarious anti-Halloween Dr. Orel White, who wants to banish the holiday forever. The time-travel plot sends the heroes on a quest to stop the mad doctor from outlawing Halloween, collecting candy and changing their outfits along the way.

Sunset Overdrive:

Sunset Overdrive

A huge difference to Defense Grid 2 and Costume Quest 2, Sunset Overdrive is a frantic third-person shooter based around a suspicious fizzy drink turning people into mutants. Hooked yet?!

Set in Sunset City, this game allows players to try all kinds of wild stunts, using zip-lines, wall-running, and grind rails to get around. Tons of weapons are up for grabs, and there’s plenty to see and do. One to check out, especially for free.

Xbox 360:

Grid 2:

Grid 2

Codemasters know a thing or two about racing games, and Grid 2 is worth a try. Featuring a great range of real-world cities to explore, Grid 2 offers a sleek collection of vehicles from across forty years.

On top of this, the ‘TrueFeel’ handling system keeps the game feeling realistic without being too hard for more casual players to enjoy. It’s gorgeous to look at, too, with a decent helping of modes.

Peggle:

Peggle

Puzzle games are as popular as ever, and Peggle is one of the more original for consoles. Players are given a set of balls to take down a section of multicoloured pegs, clearing them out as directed.

Peggle has enjoyed great success since it featured as a demo in the iconic Orange Box compilation, with more than 50 million downloads. It’s fast-paced, colourful, and lots of fun – give it a try.

So, that’s it – lots for Gold Live members to enjoy in May!
