You Don’t Have to Take Our Word for it, Look at the Reviews

Sitting at a stellar Metacritic score of 97 currently, Red Dead Redemption 2 has joined the ranks of other Rockstar Games classics: GTA 4 has a score of 98, GTA 5 a 97, and the original RDR a score of 95. With a track record so amazing, I guess it’s no surprise that Rockstar has once again produced another epic. Here’s what some of the reviewers had to say:

IGN – 10/10

“A meticulously polished open-world ode to the outlaw era.”

Game Informer – 10/10

“An open-world western for the ages.”

The Guardian 5/5

“Total immersion in an astonishingly lifelike world – whether you’re outgunning rivals or skinning animals – makes this outlaw adventure a landmark game”

Gamespot – 9/10

“Yee (and I cannot stress this enough) haw.”

And the list goes on…

Red Dead Redemption 2 Brings A New Take on a Classic Tale

Just one more job, just one more big score, that’s how it always begins… but you’ll never expect where Red Dead Redemption 2 takes the story from there. To set the stage for you a little bit, picture this: the year is 1899, a bank robbery has just gone bad, times are changing.

The Wild West era is ending and a new Modern age is beginning, but the road ahead is just as wild. As Arthur Morgan, member of the Van der Linde gang (and now a fugitive), your only choice is to flee to survive. While traveling deeper and deeper into the heartland of America, your gang starts to unravel. It’s up to you to decide how much of your old life gets left by the wayside, and how this journey will finally end.

A New Definition of  “Open-World”

Red Dead Redemption 2 is all about “depth, detail, and choice” (as Rockstar puts it) in every aspect of the game. The massive open world is filled with quests, characters, animals, weapons, and secrets that will remain hidden even after hundreds of hours of gameplay. This is a Rockstar Game remember? Players are still working on solving the “Mt. Chiliad Mystery” from GTA 5!

When we say that Red Dead Redemption 2 is an “open-world” game we’re talking about a lot more than just the immense size of the map. Open world in RDR2 means freedom to do things you never thought possible in a video game; whenever and wherever you want to do them. Open-world means nuanced details and realistic features that make you feel fully immersed in a unique virtual place
