The release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on October 25 is not far off. But time is relative, and for fans of the series that can feel like an eternity. The Beta, including the exclusive early access period, provides a much-needed appetizer before the full release. For fans of the series, this is the chance to get a head start on the competition and provide crucial feedback that could shape the final game. Here’s how you can get in.

Black Ops 6 Beta Dates and Start Times

Early Access

Exclusive access to the Beta will kick off on Friday, August 30 through Wednesday, September 4. The PlayStation early access period is no longer a thing now that Microsoft owns Activision, so all platforms will go live at the same time:

  • 10 AM PT
  • 1 PM ET
  • 6 PM BST
  • 3 AM AET (August 31)

Open Beta

The second Beta period is for all players on all platforms. It’s scheduled to begin on Friday, September 6 at 10AM PT; and end on Monday, September 9 at 10AM PT.

How to get Early Access to the Black Ops 6 Beta (Option 1) – Simply Buy an Early Access Key

Do you want early access to the beta but you’re not ready to buy the full game (or start a Game Pass subscription)? Then simply buy a standalone key available for a fraction of the price of the full game. It’s that easy.

How to Get Early Access to the Black Ops 6 Beta (Option 2) – Game Pass

Your second option is the good ol’ “Netflix of Games”, thanks to Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Activision/Blizzard. In addition to playing the full release on day one, an active subscription to Xbox Game Pass (on console or PC) can secure you early access to the Black Ops 6 Beta.

But Microsoft’s recent revamping of their Game Pass tiers might leave you wondering which subscription level is necessary to access everything Black Ops 6. From the campaign, to online multiplayer, and even early access to the Beta. Here’s the deal:

To get into the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta early using Game Pass, you’ll need an active subscription to Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC, or Game Pass Console.

How to Redeem an Early Access Code for the Black Ops 6 Open Beta

First off, if you pre-ordered a digital edition of Black Ops 6 on a platform store, through the Call of Duty in-game store, or you’re an active subscriber of a qualifying Game Pass plan, you don’t need a code to gain Early Access to the Open Beta. You’re good to go.

But, if you have a standalone code, like the ones you can buy from the CDKeys store, then this is how you activate it:

Head over to callofduty.com/betaredeem and follow the instructions on the page to reserve your spot for Early Access to the Open Beta.

You’ll need to be logged in to your Activision account to enter your Early Access code. If you don’t have an Activision account, you can create a free one.

Once your Early Access code is successfully redeemed, you’ll receive a success message confirming your registration for Early Access.

Before the Beta begins, players who registered with a code will receive an Early Access Beta token via email. This token can only be redeemed on the platform you selected when you redeemed your Early Access code.

Why Early Access Matters

Early access to the Black Ops 6 beta isn’t just about bragging rights—it’s an opportunity to experience the game before anyone else. For seasoned players, this is a golden chance to explore new maps, test out weapons, and familiarize themselves with the gameplay mechanics. It also offers a first look at any new features or game modes that the developers have added. By participating in the beta, players can give direct feedback, helping to fine-tune the game and ensure that it meets the community’s high expectations.
